We begin our Athens by Night Tour before the sun sets.  Our first stop will be Pireaus, Greece’s principal port.  We take a scenic stroll by the fishing boats and luxurious yachts at the Marina Zea and the Mikrolimano harbor with the many restaurants and cafeterias.  Enjoy the sunset with a shot of ouzo or raki with meze, as a starter before your dinner.

Leaving Pireaus, we return to Athens, which transforms in the evening.  We take a brief drive through the city to admire the views of the important landmarks and sites of the historical city center, beautifully lit against the night skyline of Athens.  At the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to admire the illuminated Acropolis.  See along the way of our tour, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Arch of Hadrian, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Parliament Building and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Also view the “Trilogy” of neo-classical architecture in Athens: the National Library, the National University of Athens and the Academy of Athens.

Before dinner, we will drive up to the pine-forested slopes of Lycabettus Hill, the highest point in Athens for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

We continue our evening in the neighborhood of Plaka, the historical area around the Acropolis.  After a short walk through the narrow picturesque pedestrian streets, you will have the chance to experience a traditional night in a tavern with local dishes, good wine and live bouzouki music.
